2019 - Here I have a complete collection of all Australian polymer notes (single note) issued since 1988, including all commemorative / numismatic notes, joint issues and special serial numbered issues. The only set that I do not have, at the moment, is the 1998 $10 Portraits AA98/AB98 (with or without frame). This $10 Portrait set was a failure at that time and the series was later withdrawn as it was not popular among collectors. The price was not right then for me too and that was why I didn't buy them. It was the NPA intention then to release all portrait sets on a yearly basis starting with the $10 note and collectors were also given the opportunity to get them all with matching serial numbers too. Unfortunately this was not to be the case.

* Australian banknotes are also the official currency of Christmas Island, Norfolk Islands, Keeling and Cocos Islands, Kiribati, Nauru and Tuvalu. The Australian banknotes were also once circulating as an official currency of Hebrides (Vanuatu), Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands prior to gaining independence. *

.Australia - 1997 Famous Fives Commemorative Premium Set

Australia

1997 The Famous Five 30th Year Anniversary

This is a general folder consists of three $5 notes celebrating the 30th anniversary of the five dollars note, first issued in 1967. Australia converted its currency from pound to decimal on 14.02.1966. However the $5 was not included in the first issue, not until 29.05.1967. All notes are printed with the first issue dates in red. The Three notes in this folder are:

$5 - last paper notes bearing the signatures of Bernard William 'Bernie' Fraser and Anthony Stuart Cole. This note is printed with the date of 29 May 1967;
$5 - first polymer bearing the signatures of Bernard William 'Bernie' Fraser and Anthony Stuart Cole and dated 7 July 1992; and
$5 - recoloured of the $5 polymer note printed with the date of 24 April 1995. Signatures on the note belonged to Bernard William 'Bernie' Fraser and Edward Alfred 'Ted' Evans.

Two varieties were issued - Premium and deluxe folders. The Premium set was sold at 85 and the deluxe set sold at $45. The numbered 1 set for the Premium was auctioned off and fetched a hammer price of $780. Proceeds from the sale were donated to charity.

Below I have only posted one side of the note showing the date overprints. The designs on the other sides are all the same as those issued earlier.
