The two notes posted here are the first prefix AA19 and last prefix EA19. Both notes are in UNC condition, and I have had these in my collection for a few years now. Obviously, I paid a high premium for these two notes, but I believe it's worth it.
I have posted this note before in one of my previous posts but that note has a normal prefix.
Front - Portrait of Mary Reibey (b.1777-1855). Mary Reibey, was an English-born woman who arrived in Australia in 1792 as a convict for stealing a horse in 1791. After gaining her freedom, together with her husband, Thomas Reibey, they successfully ran several businesses as merchant, shipowner and trader. When her husband died in 1811, she took over the family business. In addition to the various businesses she owned, she also owned farms, a sealing operation, and invested in property. It is also interesting to know that she was one of the founding members of the Bank of New South Wales (established 1817, now Commonwealth Bank). Mary Reibey died from pneumonia at the good old age of 78.
John Flynn (b.1880-1951) - A pioneered the world's first aerial medical service in 1928.
The aim was to spread a 'mantle of safety' across 7.65 million square
kilometers of outback. Today, we know this as the Royal Flying Doctor
Service (RFDS). It's still the largest and most comprehensive
aeromedical emergency and healthcare service in the world. His stories
are told through a RFDS De Havilland aircraft leaving a remote Broken
Hill homestead in 1948 and a pedal-powered transceiver used by the
service to improve communication in remote areas.
